This four-day program will result in attendees acquiring the skills necessary to operate UAS for law enforcement purposes. Utilizing K-State’s industry-leading technology, including FLIR and optical zoom sensors, pilots will learn the best ways to incorporate UAS into their law enforcement agencies.
During this course, pilots will receive 10 hours of hands on flight training which includes:
- Fundamental and advanced flight maneuvers
- Crew resource management
- Accident scene reconstruction
- Search and rescue scenarios
- Night operations
- Operational scenarios using multiple aircraft and crews
In addition to the flight training, attendees will also learn best practices for UAS operations, FAA regulatory guidance for law enforcement agencies, and software tools for extracting actionable information from UAS operations.
Attendees must have a Remote Pilot in Command certificate or be enrolled in the sUAS Commercial Pilot Training.

Time: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, with adjusted hours for night operations training on April 11
