Attendees will receive 4 hours of hands on flight instruction to develop basic skills required to operate a multirotor sUAS. These fundamental skills will set a solid foundation for individuals to build and expand their UAS operations. Special attention will be given to applying safety practices during flight and basic proficiency and knowledge of UAV flight operations. Attendees may bring their own aircraft or rent a DJI Inspire 2 for an additional fee.

Attendees must have an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate or be enrolled in the sUAS Commercial Pilot Training.

Time: December 2020 course is based on two students to one instructor and follows the schedule of Thursday 1:00 pm-5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am-12:00 pm. View the Basic Multirotor Flight Training Schedule for details.

Beginning in 2021, course instruction will move to one student to one instructor. Course times will be on Thursday from 1:00-5:00 pm and use the 2021 Basic Multirotor Flight Training Schedule.

Location: Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus in Salina, Kansas

Cost: $550 – discount available if attending the sUAS Commercial Pilot Training

Course fee includes two on one flight instruction. DJI Inspire 2 aircraft with X5S sensor rental is at an additional fee of $436.
